With Burke at the Olympics running Team USA, Dave Nonis has been the lead GM for the Maple Leafs during the break. From TFP:
"According to the Sun, one team has already offered the Leafs a second-round draft pick and a prospect for Ponikarovsky. The Pittsburgh Penguins, Nashville Predators and Phoenix Coyotes are among the teams reportedly interested in Ponikarovsky, while the Buffalo Sabres have been linked to Stempniak."
The Leafs are ready to be both buyers and sellers on Wednesday's deadline, and the new face to the franchise will be getting yet another makeover. We'll see what the Leafs can do in Burke's second deadline event.

This man is pure class. He's likely going to carry the Russian flag to close out to Olympics, and what better person than a man who can show his incredlble multi-tasking skills of walking, talking on a cell phone, and shoving a fan all at the same time. I think what puts the icing on the cake is knowing that the fan was RUSSIAN. Pure class, Ovechkin.

According to a blog report on the Atlanta Journal-Constitution website, Atlanta Thrashers forward Vyacheslav Kozlov has requested a trade.
The 37 year old winger said he will waive his no trade clause. He's been debating leaving the club since Ilya Kovalchuk was dealt to the New Jersey Devils.
"I don't know if I'm going to be on this team or another team," Kozlov told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. "If we can find a team which I like and which is good for me and my family I will go. If not, I'm going to be here. With coach not playing me, what can you do? That's why I feel I could go play for somebody that needs my help. If so, I'll waive my no trade clause."
Kozlov has tallied 851 points in 1,179 career games, despite having a career worst year.
