 Toronto is close to announcing a deal with Pittsburgh involving Alexei Ponikarovsky. The return is believed to be Luca Caputi, a 6'3" 200 lbs LW from Toronto, Ontario, who has 47 points in 54 games this season for the Penguins AHL club.
From Dreger: "Once Pitt clears cap space, it will be Ponikarovsky for Luca Caputi."
According to McKenzie and Damien Cox, the Leafs are willing to take on Martin Skoula from the Penguins in order to get the trade done, but that might cost the Penguins a draft pick. Stay tuned.
